Silverking provides services grounded in cultural, historical and legal contexts for Aboriginal consultation and engagement. With a solid understanding of and experience with government agencies, we can bring traditional knowledge and traditional use information into government processes and other western styles of understanding while respecting the integrity of that knowledge.
Our work is founded on the fact the natural environment is a major contributor to social organization, culture and other human institutions and that there is a inherent relationship between humans and the environment and ecosystems surrounding us. We are both wholly dependent on this natural environment while we exert a wide range of pressures on it. The health of our cultures and societies relies on our ability to maintain and repair these ecosystems and our willingness to take that responsibility.
We recognize that traditional activities occur during all seasons, are participated in by both genders and all ages and that information shared by aboriginal communities belongs to those communities. All information collected will be treated respectfully and will be stored, shared and returned as per direction from the community that it belongs to.
